John Derbyshire

John Derbyshire is a columnist for National Review. In 2006, he published Unknown Quantity: A Real and Imaginary History of Algebra (Joseph Henry Press). His 2003 book Prime Obsession: Bernhard Riemann and the Greatest Unsolved Problem in Mathematics, published by Plume, won the 2007 Euler Prize for mathematical exposition, awarded by the Mathematical Association of America. His most recent book, We Are Doomed: Reclaiming Conservative Pessimism, was published by Crown Forum in September 2009.
