In Merchants of Despair: Radical Environmentalists, Criminal Pseudo-Scientists, and the Fatal Cult of Antihumanismthe latest addition to our New Atlantis Books series, Dr. Robert Zubrin exposes the history, bogus claims, and major crimes of one of the most sinister ideological currents of the last two centuries: the belief that the human race is a horde of vermin whose unconstrained aspirations and appetites endanger the natural order, and that tyrannical measures are necessary to constrain humanity.

In this evening lecture, Dr. Zubrin will discuss his new book, making the case against antihumanism and showing why growth and innovation are fundamentally beneficial to human prosperity. The discussion will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at the offices of the Hudson Institute, and will be followed by a wine and cheese reception. An excerpt of the book as available online now at The New Atlantis.

This event is free and open to the public. If you plan to attend, kindly RSVP to Brendan Foht at bfoht@thenewatlantis.com.
